Interview Request- REAPPLICATION

Hello,

I just got an interview request--the letter from Immigration Section (Abu Dhabi) mentions that it is being conducted for "quality assurance" of my application. My first application was rejected on the grounds that I had submitted an Approval Letter and not a Letter of Acceptance. I reapplied on 30th May 2019 with a letter of explanation from the University of Toronto to confirm my acceptance into the Master's Program for Fall 2019. Additionally, I attached an SOP.

I've heard that interview requests are extremely rare in the case of study permits so I am quite anxious at this point--I would just like to know what applicants on this Forum think; is this interview request a bad thing? Has anyone received their Visa approval letter after the interview?

My biometrics validity letter was received on 15th May, 2019. I have not yet received a request for Medical.

I have applied from Pakistan. I received my Bachelor's degree in May 2018 from the University of Massachusetts in the United States.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Thanks!

In my opinion, it is a positive sign. They probably need to confirm a couple of things face to face before they give you the visa, just as an extra measure of assurance. Interviews are usually a pre-final step. Unless you say something totally wrong or contradicting with what you presented in your application, the interview will go well.

Are you based in UAE? My situation is similar to you. I got rejected last year on the grounds of a lack of proof of ties in UAE.
I re-applied this year in beginning of June and still waiting a response.

Fingers crossed until we hear a decision.

Hello,

I really hope it is a positive sign! I read on this Forum that some applicants were asked to bring in certain documents with them, such as financial documents, however, the letter I have received only mentions that I am supposed to bring in my original passport and a copy of the interview letter. So, just wondering if I should only take these 2 documents or my entire application (materials)?

I am based in Pakistan. Good luck to you! :)
