Interview Experience with Citizenship Officer November 2021

Typing in phone while travelling from Windsor to Yellowknife sorry if any errors friends ...

No Important questions but as of I remember these are the following questions...

1) Officer: Hi Good Morning this is Officer XXXXXXX from Citizenship and Immigration Canada , is this XXXXXX XXXXXXX ??? how are you doing ???( as the call came around 8 am from +1999999999999 number )
as I was busy getting ready to my work I thought it is a fraud call, as I thought with out notice IRCC dont call directly but fortunately I picked the call

2) Officer: I am finalizing your application and I have few questions is this the right time to talk ? Otherwise I can call you later...
I said yeah please, I am completely free ( even if we are not free we have to be free right as IRCC call is like a winning jackpot or winning Lotto47 )

3) Officer: said ohh great , so when did you visit USA last time ? ( As I was a frequent visitor to USA before COVID Closure )
Me: I said March 2020

4) Officer said as you were a frequent visitor to USA We need FBI clearance from USA, do you already have one ? or you want to get one ? so that I can give you a week time? is that ok ?
Me: I said sure I can get the new one as the previous one was 2 years old ( She said ohh yeah.. 2year is very old one... )

5) Officer: said that is fantastic, and how do you rate your English speaking and writing ?
Me: I said 8 out of 10 in both

6) Officer: said I convinced with your answer and I am marking your language requirement is met for citizenship
Me: I said thank you.

7) Officer: After this she was silent for 20-30 seconds ... I got so scared as the call got disconnected, after 30 seconds I said .. officer ... are you able to hear me... and she said yeah.... yeah.. and she said I am seeing your physical presence requirements.. and then she said, why did you go to USA this many times?
Me: I said I have business in Windsor hence I had to purchase grocery but all the times I paid customs and have proof of purchases ..

8) Officer: said no no no.. no need of all the proofs.. I just want to know why... anyways I have all your records with me what date you exited and entred back to Canada and how much goods you declared at border..... and again 20 seconds silent.... on sep 21 st 2017 you did not declare some electronics and you were penalized, but it was very minimal but looks like all ok for me... no issues......
Me: I said officer I bought a laptop few days back of that travel date... and I declared already but again I carried the laptop with the box and officer at that booth asked me to roll down my window and seen the box and asked me bla ...blaa. bla...

9) Officer: said not an issue I understand completely it is very minimal, I am ok with that ..
Me: I said thank you

10) Officer: asked me if your application was approved, are you going to stay in this country or you have plans to move to other country?
Me: I said I want to stay here only, and serve this county for making Canada a stronger economy... and all..

11) Officer: said ooww..owww...that is enough ...
Me: I said sorry sorry ..

12) Officer: said ok looks all good , I need your FBI clearance certificate from USA in-order to close your file, can you get it in 7 days ?
Me: I said do you think I can get in 7 days officer ?

13) Officer: said there is rush service from there, if you pay more you will get in 24 hours after they receive you finger printing, if you want I can give more time but I want to know now so that I can set it up from later date to close your file
Me: I said no officer I will apply for the rush service and will get it asap..

14) Officer: said you are all set, just get the certificate to clear your prohibitions requirements and you are good, is there anything you want to know ?
Me: started saying about backlog of citizenship applications as I stated in the main post like this

" I asked the officer , in another 4 moths I am finishing 2 years, can you please help me to finish this off my humble request officer please, she replied your case is not urgent we are very behind because of Afghanistan crisis, I said please officer even we have humanity but many of us waiting here in the line to obtain citizenship might have faced more issues than Afghans, isn't it true that " For Canadian Government Canadians should be the first priority "please understand I am not asking for me, I am asking for all of us suffering since more than a year still we dont know when are we going to end this hassle and I ended up with " GOD BLESS CANADA ", she said really sorry for all these mess but we have to follow the superior's orders no matter what, you are true " For Canadian Government Canadians should be the first priority " , but definitely I will bring to my supervisor and lets see what I can do for this and she said " GOD BLESS CANADA " with a smile. Really people few immigration officers have heart she was so convinced and I believe she will do something positive. "

She said dont worry I will do what ever possible in area.

Then I said thank you

So please friends, your turn is coming very very soon.. I know everybody saying the same thing, but if your application is past 18-20 months ( becaus nowadays this is the minimal timeline for this) ..... really.... really ......your turn is coming soon, please hang tight and pray god.....

I find it very strange that they did not notify you in advance. Second, I also find it strange that this person asked you about your intention to live in Canada, which she shouldn't have.

They are still old school guys. Not surprised.
These calls started during pandemic to coordinate on oath and interview when there was no formal process at that time just after pandemic started but some still continue it looks like. Same way, they are still asking our intent to live after oath. Not surprised again.
Seems not much training happens or they are not serious about following the instructions received or possibly the officer is conservative voter.

These calls seem to go off record. They are not recorded. So if they say something against you based on the call, it would be hard to defend yourself later. I maybe OK with a call to schedule me the oath, but I don't like how they are doing things. It seems more like low-quality business and not an official government interactions.

1. Correct. Probably so hence this kind of loose talk.
2. Of course, we all are ready to take up calls during the night too but they dont even work during day time hence i can put the mobile in slient mode during night time.
3. ya right. its like casual work. it doesnt matter for them on how they get the work done. they just want to spook people like cops with a surprise raid

I'm now wondering if I have missed any calls. I don't answer any calls to my phone, all family and friends either call through apps or Facetime. For any other calls I reckon if it's really important they will leave a message for me to call back (although given IRCC's track record I wouldn't expect it from them). I think it's really shitty they don't give you advance notice that you have been scheduled for an interview.

Hey thanks for sharing. What is your location? But it is really unexpected that they call with no warning. I also never pick up unknown callers or numbers. Hopefully they would leave a voice message if unavailable?

No no email no information, no noting.. suddenly I got the call, I mentioned the number already anyways I got the call from +199999999999

as per the CBP records I crossed and came back same day for 523 days

Yeah they would leave a voice message, as I answered I didnt know they leave VM or not, I am from Windsor
