I have been hearing a lot about interviews at the port of entry in Canada. Immigration officers are drilling the new students arriving in Canada.

Can someone share their recent experience? Questions being asked?

Thanks

They'll ask you normal stuff:

1. What is your purpose?
2. Which college and course?
3. Where will you be staying?
4. What would you like to do after course?

Normally, people who are not that conversant with English finds problem answering above questions.

I hope it helps!

When I landed, the officer asked if I had a girlfriend.

Had quite a funny chat with her, it was nothing serious though. Just a casual chat.

Thanks guys...

heard from someone that one of their relative was sent back from Toronto next day as officer was not satisfied with answers.. he was in a detention centre at the airport and then sent back.

That person must have been entering illegally. If you have the proper papers and are a genuine student, you should not worry.

What would be the apt answer for 'What would you like to do after the course?' ?
It's obvious that most of us would apply for a PGWP to work there.
should we just tell them about work plans?

My thought would be to be honest and clear ...
Rest is up to God

I would never say at that moment that I am planning to stay. That means you lied to VO convincing them that you have ties to your home country. AT THAT moment, at Port of Entry, the answer could be only :"I am planning to go home.".

Down the road you may change your plans. It is OK, that is how life goes. First you have plans, then you change them...

I agree with you.
I don't want to mention anything about my future plans there.
I'd appreciate if you share any other important tips as far as POE is concerned.
I'll be arriving in Toronto on July 27th.
Hope everything goes well.

I'll be landing in Toronto on July 27th,one month prior to my course commencement date.
I have already arranged accommodation at the colg campus.I have receipts too.
I'm also planning to carry abt CAD 2000 as cash for my immediate expenses.
Will they still ask for proof of funds?
