I don't have pay slips for my previous employment, just To whom it may concern letters, But still i have the account number which salary was deposited in.

I think i should get account statement from the bank (to be stamped) showing salary transfer to the account. this is good from which perspectives?

nice thread.

My case became slightly complicated as they sent me interview call yesterday for interview on 25th feb. Problem is that the venue is mentioned as London :).
I think they made a mistake as I applied while I was in Dubai and have never left Dubai since then. For some reason, my venue is marked as London.

Any advice?
Also, the email mentioned document to bring as "Photo ID" only. They did not ask for any other document. Did others got similar invites (i.e. without any docs).

Regards,
Can you spotlight on the possible reasons for your case taking so long time? You are called for interview only now although you applied 4 years back in 2009?

My friend if it actually comes to you having to defend your job with proof of salary transfer in your bank account during the interview, you can be almost certain the VO has decided to fail you in the interview. Such information is only asked for when there are serious doubts about the documents you have submitted. Do not try so hard in the interview, only give what is asked for and no more.

No one mentioned anything about defending job but we are talking about supporting documents. I worked for government in Abu Dhabi which are definitely trusted organizations.

To better understand your post i guess it says something about over vs normal preparation. in other words, do I have to take all available supportive documents even though the basic / required ones are exist and sufficient.

Abu Hassan,

I appreciate your replies, really they are always helpful. one more question (though we discussed it already). would emails be of any value, either presented to VO or used while discussion as reference of JDs ?

I am not trying to be negative here. Based on the discussions I am seeing ,I think a lot of our friends are only thinking as the candidates. You need to step back and think of it as the interviewer. For him it is not a life changing event that effects our families (like we immigration applicants think). For him it is just a job. We are all professionals here, just think how annoyed we become when someone throws too much information our way, when we do not need it.

Secondly I stand by my observation on having to show bank statement for salary deposit, visa officer will only ask for this if he thinks you have been lying about having that job. Mostly if it is not a routine interview, to read your body language, they will just want to ensure that you were in fact doing the duties that are specified in NOC code.

Best of luck... All I am saying here is don't worry so much, the calmer you are the better the interview.

Soudless,

Thanks for your compliments.

Well, I wouldn't suggest you to submit or base your interview discussion on email conversation. First reason is that email communication/conversation isn't a standard legal/official document, though emails are accepted by the employers as a proof of employee's job functions. The second reason is that there might exist certain sentence/information which you might overlook but VO could catch it which might effect your application negatively. But if you have other official document such as offer letter, contract with job description that will obviously support your reference letter as these are standard official documents and there shouldn't be any sentence/information existing in such document which could harm your case.

I believe that if you have ONLY a reference letter from your HR/Line Manager on proper company letterhead with detailed job description and you can discuss & explain your job description in details during interview, that would suffice and VO officer will understand that you are genuine.

Off course, this is my understanding & point of view, you are free to decide and act.

+1 for you. I liked this part "For him it is not a life changing event that effects our families (like we immigration applicants think). For him it is just a job"

your view point is clear
