Does (internship/house job) year count as a year of experience?

in my certificate stated that (internship training year including salary and working hours + working days per week)

applying for Federal skilled worker

I counted my internship during MA studies in China as work experience.

If ur internship and studies are done outside Canada, and it is paid and under NOC A/0/B, it would count.

Not sure about how long the internship should last. Some say equivalent to 1yr full time experience, but I am not sure about that.

If u r not sure, just add an entry about the internship into ur EE profile and see whether ur score would change after 1~2 days. If it works, that would be a happy ending. If not, just remove that from ur work history.

It all depends on your official graduation date on your diploma, for some occpations or countries, internships are considered part of the education, whole for others they're a post grad training.

The CIC rule is that you can't count any work done before your graduation date towards your experience, whatever it is.

Any paid job after grad can be used.

That applies for Canadian work experience.

For foreign work experience, skilled work during studies certainly counts.

Depends on the profession then I guess.. as for regulated professions you can't possibly get a job before graduation and licensure.

Thanks for your input!

Are you sure about that?!!! I have worked before I graduated and I have a document certifying that. Why, this wouldn't count as a work experience?

For Canadian work experience he's correct: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=394&top=29

Thank you, mine is outside Canada, so it should be fine.

Hello All,

I did my internship at ILO Geneva after completion of my bachelors and its a cash paid internship. No Payslip concept there. I just have certificate of internship and superviser report. Should I include this internship in my EE profile ? If I won't include this in EE profle, will it be considered as misrepresentation of information ?

Hello everyone.
I know the stress and tension you guys are dealing with.
I was there too some time before.
I am a fsw applied in august 11 2016.
I did my internship in USA.
And I showed that as my experience for one year.
But it was paid. And after school.
So the clause said unpaid internship doesn't count. On official cic site for the eligibility.
And by god grace I got passport request this 6 of January.
So anyone who wants to apply for express entry, with internship as there experience please do.
Conditions is it has to be paid.
And you should be able to prove if.

@Andy0047

It was paid internship but with out payslips. As it was very short term they have paid me in cash. They have provided me with Certificate of internship and Supervisor report docs. No PaySlips. Will CIC accept this experience ?

Yes if you actually have a reference letter following IRCC's requirements.
