I know from other threads in this forum that CEC category doesnt recognise internships during study period as valid ezperience. But i cannot find any explanatiin for this circumstance for FSW category.

I have 481 points and an ITA but thats on basis of several internships Which I did during my undergraduate and postgraduate studies. I have only experience letters and am seeking reference letters with job responsibilities from the companies.

But if they dont count internship as experience what would happen ?
Without these internships and counting only full time experience after graduation I still have about 19 months of experience and will still get 456 points in CRS.

What would be my best course of action now. any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks

I believe that Internship gained under a study permit would not count towards the CRS points.

Remember that Express entry has its own sets of rules and FSW another and EE rules states that any internship gained under a study permit doesn't count. Sorry I dont have the links to it coz of lack of time from my part, but you can search that up.

You should have said YES to the question that asks you if you were student at the time you were working. This way you will not get any points, as result you will be safe. But if you have said NO and you were doing an internship and you gained points for it, i think you should decline the ITA and change your answer to YES. Do not take the risk, you will still be invited with 456.

good luck

The thing is I had hired an agent to do all of this in india. I thought they knew what they were doing.

Are you sure that I can edit the EE profile after refusing ITA ??

Hold your horses before declining your invitation! Were your internships PAID? Then they count toward FSW. Here's the link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

I believe that one reason that the 8th draw is still at 453 is because so many people above that number declined invitations they could have accepted. That is good for CIC, which then can announce they have extended a large number of invitations - when they actually have to process far fewer.

People are beginning to realize that an ITA is a valuable thing. Don't decline it unless you really have to.

And I think people really need to fill out their EE forms themselves and not pay others to do it. Paid representatives want to make you happy by getting you as high a score as possible - and they don't care that you have to prove those claims true if you are given an ITA.

AND another thing! If you 1) still have enough work experience without the internships to qualify under FSW, and 2) still have more than 453 points without the internships -- APPLY!

CIC makes it clear that any decline in your points that still keep you within the points of your draw mean that you can still apply.

PLEASE don't listen to all the silly people who want others to decline invitations! It begins to seem to me that they want that in hopes that they will get an ITA instead!

But my internships were done while i was still studying ... I would not want to take a chance ... and would rather avoid the complications by declining the current ITA and doing it the right way.

It's at the bottom of the page you add your job experince one by one. Make sure you say YES to "were you student"

Did you read the link? And you DO understand that there is absolutely no guarantee that you will get another chance to "do it the right way"?

If I dont get a chance to apply with 456 points I would not be the only one dissapointed. But if I apply and then something wrong happens then I will be very dissapointed.

Can anyone confirm that if I decline my ITA I would be able to remove/edit out the "doubtful" work experience from my EE profile and get back into the pool with the same profile (albeit with lower score) ?

This seems to be the safest way ...
