Hello everyone,
I was a summer intern(Designation: Policy and Programs Assistant) at the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, where I have performed policy analysis and development. My job description and experience far outweighs the skills and the experience of an internship provided to an university student.
Moreover, because I had graduated from school and it was my second time around the in program, my manager gave me complex projects and policy files to work with. The best NOC Code match for the work I did is 4165, Health Policy Researcher/Program Officer which falls under the skill category A.
Around 5 months of experience was gathered under my PGWP in that position. ( I worked from May 2014 till July 2014 under the off campus WP, and from August 2014 till the end of December 2014 with PGWP. In addition, I was paid the minimum wage, which unfortunately is the wage level set by the Ontario Public Service for interns.
Now my question is am I eligible to claim this work experience according to OP25A. I have proof of working in complex projects, my manager will write me a reference letter if required. However, I am afraid that in my pay stub has the term " Student Level 2" in it, which might affect my eligibility under the CEC - I am not sure though.
I have talked to a representative at Campbell Cohen, and he said that internship doesnt matter as long as it matches the NOC code and done after graduation - Any thoughts on this :-[
Thank you for taking the time to read it
