Hi, here's my situation. am an international student and this is my first semester in Class. my course is 2 years program but I just changed it to certificate which is 1 year, but my visa will be valid till 2017. We will apply for a spousal sponsorship on December and we are applying inland/ as far as I know I am eligible for OWP pilot program of CIC right? so most probably my OWP will be on my hand by April ? my graduation in school is on April 2016 and my question is is it okay for me to not apply for PGWP as I am just waiting for OWP pilot ?

is your school supposed to report CIC that you changed your course?
If so, not sure you can hold your study permit till it's expired.

I would apply for PGWP anyway, would not risk any (it takes 4 month to get OWP, but never know it might take longer)

if your class end in April and you would receive your OWP by April , don't think you do not need to apply for PGWP.

If I were you, I would apply for the post-graduate work for two reasons:
1. it's a one time deal i.e. if you don't apply within a certain time after completing your program, it's gone.
2. while no one wishes their relationship ends, it happens sometimes. In that case you will have the post-graduate work permit as plan B and can apply for PR on your own.

Just my 2 cents, but final decision is yours.
