actually that person has 1 year and i am sure the points will come down in an year and he/she can apply for BOWP as soon as he/she gets the AOR.
So i dont think anxiety is gonna do any good:)

Nope.. It took that person at least 3 - 4 months after graduation to find job (if not longer). And his/her 2 yrs anniversary was few days ago. So only few months left on his/her PGWP. There's no guarantee that the score will go down. Hopefully she/he will not be having birthday anytime soon as it will hurt his/her current points.

Plan B for him/her in case she/he cannot secure ITA until his/her work permit expires is to go back to country of origin and secure 3 yrs foreign work experience and come back to apply Express entry through "FSW route"...

Oh crap.. I forgot, he/she might need to retake his/her IELTS again... but that's fine securing max IELTS score is a piece of cake for him/her as he/she was educated in Canada..

;D ;D

Why did it take the person 3/4 months. What school he went to that it took him so long. I got my offer letter including a few in my class before we finished school.
My employer actually had to wait for my PGWP to give me a start date. That was just a lucky few of us but i dont have any known friend who had to wait 3-4 months after getting PGWP.
NO OFFENSE but if thats the case with that person than either he/she was lazy to search for jobs or was not deserving enough. I don't know the person so dont want to judge but circumstances say otherwise.

Also they dont have to gain 3 yr experience from back home(that iunformation is totally incorrect) 2 yr canadian exp with studies should be good enough.

Suggestion - ask your friend to look into PEI PNP that process is fast. I know someone like that who had 4 months remaining and he got PEI PNP last month.

wow what a way to judge people. I have seen lots of people with no prior experience needing more than 6 months to find a job even canadians not just international students. u must have outside experience. i got my job at the same time as my PGWP +- a week. But please dont judge people.

hahaha. i just get bad when people have a great gap between competence and expectation and then they start blaming other and start finding excuses.
"The system is incorrect"
"They have foreign experience"
"they must have refrences"

All nonsense, deserving get what they deserve and fighters will get it done without complaining :P

I dont believe that. If that was the case there are a lot of hardworking people who r going no where with their career. Politics and money plays a big part. I do understand people do have high expectations like finding a job right out of college but it dose not always come true.

What industry are you working for now? The ability to find a job right way is largely depend on the current job market, location and major of study. If you are in Computer science or IT, it's rather easy to find a job right away, but if you are in Chemistry/Bio/Oil/Business/GIS etc., there is no guarantee that you can find a job right away, even worse if you are in Alberta now. Sometimes, there are thing out of your control. Like I would already have my PR now if it was 2014. But no, it's 2016.

Yes and NO. Planning is what is necessary, futurist approach is another vital component. One should be a able to see and realize what is necessary in future.
Many follow a study program coz it is in high demand at that time. They dont realize that they have to finish 2 years than they would be a ble to work in the market. One has to analyze whether its good to take that course and will it suffice him/her after graduation.
just FYI i was PPL(Private pilot license holder) but i realized that airline market is going down in coming years and abundance of flying professionals are in the market. I switched right before the crash came and ended up with the right industry.
Again it comes down to planing and execution. Even if i would have failed with my decision, i wouldn't have blamed anyone coz i made a the choice adn if you do make a choice than take responisbility of ot.
Today i see many studying on their parents money, complaining about not having a good phone, ipad or a computer. than they graduate complain about politics adn refrences. They somehow they get ajob which everyone gets sooner or later they comlain about they work enviornment etc. they always complain and always will. Don't be like that. Make the best of what is provided to you. Their is work if you are will to make the effort. STOP giving excuses and work hard and making this great nation even better.

Oh come on.. I thought you were great guy who can judge people that don't get job in 3-4 months as lazy or not deserving.. don't even bother to send email to your international student fellows eh?

Now you say we are shameful.. what a personal quality you have there eh?

I help the people who help themselves rather than those who point fingers and crib all the time.
The one who are hard working enough will get their jobs no matter what. and some will keep cribbing and complaining and will get nothing productive, like what you are doing right now.

some people need to get off their mighty high horses! Just coz you had it easy, doesn't mean you need to diss everyone who did not for whatever frigging reason ! This thread was meant to help some international students vent out their frustration , but it now seems like everyone is ready to oull down the pants to prove" My underpant is better than yours". This forum is apositive platform where people help each other even with trivial doubts, but this thread is an anomaly !

Again what a personal quality you just shown on your post.. just so you know, I do help my International student fellows from various background finding a job not like you who just making nonsense judgement..

I'll stop commenting on you, we all know what kind of person you are..

Thanks for sharing your Private Pilot program by the way.. If finding job is easy in this field I will surely tell potential international students from my country to do a thorough research on this..

You can't just plan your career based on how good the market will be. People don't choose career just to make money, most of the time they choose them based on their passion for the field. You may be "brilliant" and could have chosen your field based on future market projections, but in general regular people want to work on things that they are interested in. If someone dreams to be pilot and works hard for it and ends up finding no job because politics played its role in bringing down the airline market: who are going to blame here? Will you tell him to stop complaining and go get a job as a programmer because it is in "high demand"?

I have seen hard working, highly intelligent people graduated with Computer science leaving the country to go to US to find a job after failing for 6months here, just because there was nothing he / she could find relating to their expertise. Please don't judge people.

That tells how you read the post and jump to conclusions. no wonder you have no rational judgement.
I said PPL was what i started but i dropped it in between coz i didn't see that it had a future in the coming years and thats exactly what happened.

If you really wanna help people tell them to look for future technologies which has great demand in future. For instance : robotics, mechanical, If you wanna learn IT tech Hadoop is short course with great potential.

Never advice someone to take flying a career choice, you can only advice it to people who have tons of money adn are doing it as a hobby or/and thinking of going to the forces.
