Hello;

My wife is currently in canada as an international student, she lives with me, and I am doing the paperwork to apply for her perminent residency.
In the meantime, Can she be considered as a dependent in my taxes?

Regards;

How did she get in? Did she get the Canadian Study visa before getting married to you?

I know a girl I may want to marry, but I was thinking of getting her a study visa before getting married. I hear it could be difficult after getting married.

Are you applying inland or outland for PR?

apply for visa before getting married.
if you get married before, they will not give visa easily, although sometimes they do.

if you apply for visa after you get married, she will have to mention that she is married, and she simply wants to go study in the meantime, and she will leave canada if PR was not granted.

always apply outland, inland is very long, no chance for appeal, and she can't leave the country for the duration of the process.
