This forum is great! Although, one common observation I found is that many of you are applying from outside of Canada.
I have a few questions & concerns that I have with my application:
- Reference letters. I worked 3 months for a company as a account manager - sales here in Canada. I didn’t get any points for it, but I cant get a hold of my manager there. He probably left. I still have the employment offer and my paystubs/T4s. Will that be enough?
- Work permit. I was refused extension on my work permit, so I have 90 days to restore my status as a visitor in Canada. I stopped working once I found out that my implied status is no longer valid. If I am able to work in Canada again (PR, working holiday work visa), I am coming back to my last employer. Of course, they wont put it in writing but I know how much they will miss me. I have my annual ratings/comments from my manager and he rates me very high - talks about promotions in the future etc. Can I submit documents like this in the additional document section? I also have my T4s for all 3 years that I was working in Canada. I am thinking that I will provide those as well. Good idea?
Also, my current reference letter from the place I worked is dated Sept/30 and it says April 2014 - present... work permit refusal letter is dated Sept/23, but it wasnt delivered to me till Oct/7. Will this cause any issues?
- As far as processing goes, is it processed faster by CIC? It should be easy to confirm everything. I took business and graduated with a business degree from a Canadian University. All my employment is done in Canada, with one exception (Professional athlete in USA)
- Proof of funds. I was under impression that while legally working in Canada, no POF is needed. Now that I am not working, I need to proof of funds. I have around 3,500 in my chequing account. 1,000 in TFSA, 4,000 in RRSP, and another 3,000 in other investment - stocks (non-registered). All together 12,000. My chequing hasn’t been at 3,500 in last 6 months though. I also have a car, which I am forced to sell now because it will be hard living with no income/high expenses... (rent, phone bill etc). I also have 1,300 credit card balance which I always pay in full, but I don’t want to transfer money from my chequing account, instead I have some Euros at home which I will exchange to CAD and pay my visa. Will this be a problem?
I am sorry to bore you with my story, but I need some guide, and just want to confirm that I am doing everything right.
