Hi all! I would like to reach out to all international students who would be flying to St. Johns or Deerlake on the 4th of August and would like to share isolation accommodation. A shared airbnb would be a much cheaper option as compared to having it rented all by yourself. Kindly share your itinerary, and whatsup contact number so that we can get it finalised.

Not trying to be mean but the whole point of isolation is to isolate. You are not supposed to be staying with others. You do not want to give covid to others and you do not want to get covid from others. If the government lifts the 3 day hotel stay at the port of entry, they are really going to be a lot more strict about quarantine plans. They said so this week.

I appreciate your response and of course, you are not been mean. Of course, you have a valid point here, but my thought for initiating this thread is to find people who are travelling to Newfoundland and have been allowed to enter, keeping in mind all the required tests and protocols they followed and were found negative for Covid. I would like to isolate myself with someone I fly with from YYZ to YDF or YYT.
As for me, it's all about being mindful of wearing a mask all the time and following proper social distancing and steer away from getting infected. We all praise the Canadian Govts approach towards protecting Canadians and other nationals from this Pandemic and the measures they put in place for that. If the guidelines become stricter in the future One who is flying in for non-discretionary purpose has to follow them anyway.

Well, haven't been there. Just trying to find out what might end up cheaper in terms of room tariffs for isolating 14 days. St johns seem to be cheaper but other factors are also needed to be accounted for. Would appreciate any pointer you may have.

The GOV website has a link and you should expect to follow this info. The immigration officers here can be very aggressive, at least in my experience.

Travellers who are under quarantine must avoid contact with anyone they did not travel with:
  • stay in separate rooms
  • use separate bathrooms (if possible)
  • keep surfaces clean
  • avoid sharing personal items
  • limit interactions with others in the household
Co-habitants should also follow the guidance of their local public health authorities.

https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/isolation#how-to-quarantine

It is Important to note the above guidance is under: Quarantining with others in the same household. There is no guidance for other people you do not know and if they submit the quarantine address and notice someone else is also using it your probably going to come under trouble.
