Hello guys,

Hope you all well and safe.

I am concern about my status and wish to know if i can travel to Canada. I’ll walk you step by step my situation and hopefully you can help me.

1. I graduated from a 2 Year program and got my PGWP (still valid)
2. I have a valid TRV with multiple entries + a SIN no
3. I left canada to come home before the pandemic exploded and since, I am not able to travel back as they are looking for an offer letter!
4. I find this very indecisive, as firstly I was an international student and all my belongings, bank accounts are still there. I need to file my Tax, etc , I am still paying for stuff and here i am unable to go back.
5. It’s really hard to get a job offer as most employer look for people residing in Canada.

Kindly please advise if you are in a similar situation or have the knowledge and expertise in this field.

Your help would be much appreciated.

best,
Mikhail

You need either a job offer or show you normally live in Canada. You need to show that you have paid rent, utilities, loans etc. while you have been outside Canada. How long have you been outside Canada? Rules may change as vaccination rates improve and Covid cases drop.

What is stopping you from going back? I personally know a few people who are on PGWP and have been able to travel back to Canada since January. They are temporary residents in Canada already so are allowed to travel..

Thank you for the help.
Fact is, it's been more than a year already. I made a deal with my tenant that he can pack my stuff and keep it in the garage. I'll pay the storage fees once I am back. I don't have loans but I do have a bank account.

Just a quick question, Was it like that before the covid situation? Do you usually need an offer letter to get in Canada although you have an Open work permit and a valid TRV with a sin Number?

I see that you can only travel if you have an exemption that is an offer letter or just prove that you live in Canada.

First I don't have a job offer and it is very hard to get employers' attention while you are not in Canada.

Secondly, I am not sure how to prove I reside in Canada. I do have a G licence under my current Canada Address and my bank statement in that same address, as well as my SIN Number.

I am hoping someone can confirm that I can travel in this situation.

Btw did those people had a job offer when they travelled back?

Is these step enough to show I reside in Canada ?
1. Showing My G license under my address
2. Showing my bank statement under my address
3. My sin number is under the same address
4. Work permit under the same address

One had a job at the supermarket he was still working at while studying, so it wasn't really a professional job, not sure if the others had job offers. They all just got their pgwp.
I think you only need to prove that you are living in Canada. I have seen lots of people post their travel experience in the FB group I'm part of, and a few mentioned not having a job yet, and not being asked to prove employment by the officers. I really think with the proof you mentioned you have, you should be able to get in but as you know, it depends on the officer you encounter at entry point.

I am very Grateful for your help mate.

Kindly please send me a link of that group where people share their travel experience.
