international student wants to bring his girlfriend

i'm an international student studying here in a Canadian university and i want to bring my girlfriend here with me
she was here before on a student visa and she came as visitor last year! But as a visitor she can stay here for only 6 months which is really short time!i'm trying to find a way that she can stay here with me during my study.

i know working holiday could be one option!
some people suggested skilled worker visa but she is English teacher and English is not her first language so she can't apply for skilled worker visa!

is there any other suggestions? maybe common law partner !

btw we lived together here in canada for 10 months but not in one time! they were 4 months in 2009-2010 and another 6 months in 2010-2011. and we are together for a little over 2 years now.

would that help for applying as a common law?

To apply to bring her over as your common law, you must have lived together for 12 months. Another option is to get married. If you don't want to get married, she can come on a visit visa and apply to extend her status as her 6 months are up. That way, she could manage to live with you for a year and get common law status although she would not be able to work during that time. Once you are common law or married, she would be able to get an open work permit.

According to what I have read I need to live with her three years together to apply for the common in law status. We actually tried to do what Leon suggested. She extended the visa but then we realised that the law is different in Ontario.

We are both from different countries, so now she went back to hers and I am planning to visit her during summer.

We are planning to get married in her country. If we do that can we apply to common in law here in Canada? On the top of all of this getting married seems to be very expensive...

Immigration is not only in Ontario, it is federal. For tax purposes in Ontario, it may be 3 years, for immigration, it is still only 1 so if you live together for one year, you can prove it, you fill out your own declaration of common law relationship and then she applies for an open work permit based on your study permit, it should work.

If you get married, no matter in which country, you are also married in Canada so she could apply for an open work permit as your spouse.
