spouse visa application is same NORMAL VISITOR VISA .there is not separate catagory but you have to mention that your spouse thr so that take it differently -as normal visit visa a person can stay not more then 6 months but when they issue visa for ur wife its expiry is same as ur study permit ---wether its 2 year or 1 year they will issue same visa time.....documents university letter, sealed transcript, Nikah(marriage contract), bank statment most important in my experience is you sponsor letter ---if u r serious student here then u willl get visa with no issue and in earliest time ----if u are struggling student in that case only they reject ---its my experiece looking around me and other fellows in my univeristy ----ur wife ties are important but should be realistic -----keep urself very very straight forward------
i didnt submit any document for her ties inspite she has good ties thr but i didnt mention any of her ties as her biggest tie was/am me and i am in canada then no need for any tie back home---thats not realistic to show her ties but if u want thjen show ur ties back home that u both will go back like tht ---i wrote embassy i am her biggest tie and i am in canada --u issue me TRV thats mean u believe I am temporary resident then my wife will sure be temporary resident ---thts the ties i showed them---------very very realistic thing is most important .............
Hi Unaseem,
Congrats man!!! you made visa for your spouse. Really nice to go through your post and it kept my hopes up. I am an international PhD student but visa for my family (wife and 2 kids) is rejected twice saying: travel history, length of stay and financial reason. Both the applications were done before I came here; one in July and another in August. Now I am planning to apply again somewhere during end of January. I also requested for the GCM (visa officer notes through CIC ottawa), they have clearly written that I have not sufficient funding to bear the expenses of my family in Canada. I had university funding of 19000 CAD per year, and I showed bank statement of 35000 CAD though it was last hour deposit. Now I have got my funding increased to 25000 CAD and I hope it will fulfill the funding requiremnt (10000+tuition 5000+4000 for wife+2*3000 for two kids). What do u think the chances of visa now??? I am going to send the documents like;
University funding letter--25000 CAD
Teaching assistant contract letter ---1300 CAD per term
My academic transcript of term 1---87% GPA
My Bank statemtn in Canada (6000 CAD, to be realistic, I am going to show only how much I have)
Sponsorship letter
Certificate of enrollment for term 2
Housing contract in Canada (Now I live in uni residence, but I hv done contract for 2 bd room apartment to make my case strong)
My wife will include;
Her bank statment of approx 450, 000 Indian Rupees
Property valuation report---both on her and my name
Can u advice any additional documents that need to be included? you know how difficult is to live away from spouse and kids. I would be really grateful if you share your case with me. I am really confused and dont know whether I will continue my degree if my family didnt get visa. Can u please list everything that u included with ur application?? also it will be really nice if u can share ur Sponsorship letter. My email is iwillmakeithappenforsure@gmail.com, if u prefer to share it personally.
By the way which visa office u applied through? I am from India and applied through CHC new delhi.
