I'm an international student here in Canada and I just finished my program but unfortunately I am not eligible to apply for a post graduation work permit because of the school. Are there any options that I can do to extend my stay and work here in Canada? I finished my program last Nov 6th and my visa expires on February 5 2016.

If you would like to work in Canada, you will need to find an employer who is willing to offer you a full time job. That employer will also need to obtain an approved LMIA. Once you have the job offer and approved LMIA, you can then apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.
thank you so much for your response. Is it necessary that the job offer is related to the program I took? I finished the Medical Laboratory Assistant Program. You'll be out of status if you stay past the expiry of your visa. If you are still waiting for an approved LMIA and your status is about to expire, you should apply to change your status to visitor so that you can remain in Canada legally.Anna07 said:Omg. Yes you could apply for a Program which is eligible for a PGWP. I would suggest you trying for a Univ in Quebec if u are interested in Masters. Its easy to get immigration in Quebec compared to other provinces.
