International student on co-op term. Can they take up a job on the side?

Hi fellow members. Can someone confirm if a student on a co-op term can take up a job on the side? How many hours is he/she allowed to work while being on the co-op term with an employer other than the co-op employer.

1. No, you can't take additional jobs unless it's 'approved' by the school because your Co-op permit is tied to your school and it's not an open work permit.
