following is the criteria for CEC

Hi Sonia,

Probably the first thing you need to do is look into applying for a post-graduate work permit - see here:

Please, am at cross road. I had an admission with a private school in Montreal Canada in a 3 years program but I discovered that the school did not qualify for a PGWP . Please is PGWP compulsory for PR application. Thanks

No, it is not compulsory. But it will be much more difficult to get PR if you are not allowed to work in Canada after you complete your studies. A private school is a waste of money. It does not give you a strong chance for PR. You should change to a public school.

PGWP allows you to work in Canada without requiring an LMIA from the employer. With this, you gain valuable "Canadian Experience" (if you have a PGWP for a year or more) to qualify for CEC. Canadian work experience gives you additional points in different immigration streams.

Suggest to change your school to a DLI that qualify for PGWP.

No, asylum is not easy. To have a successful asylum claim you must prove that you are personally being persecuted in your home country and have no internal flight alternatives in your home country. You must have a strong claim. If you don't have a strong claim, this is a very bad choice.

You will need to apply for a new study permit.
