Does anybody know how it works with the IEC draws these days? Is IRCC issuing Work Holiday permits right now?

Thanks Scylla. I'm just bugged by the fact that many pools have few applicants and yet the website estimates that the chances to get invited are "very low". Isn't IRCC supposed to invite people until they reach the quota by season end?

For example there are 275 visas for Croatia. So far they have issued 35 invitations and there are only 40 people in the pool. I don't understand why they don't invite everyone.

Do you know when the 2021 season should end?

I don't know when the 2021 season will end.

IRCC doesn’t have to fill the quotas or invite anyone in a year. It is at their discretion and just recently they dropped the requirement for required job offer so they might start inviting more. IRCC’s priority isn’t the IEC program.

Thanks for the info @Naturgrl. Do you know if the IEC program has always been a low priority, or if it's because of COVID and IRCC trying to catch up with all the backlog from immigration programs?

I remember getting a work holiday permit myself in 2016 and I was selected within a week. I guess I just got lucky back then.

I remember getting a work holiday permit myself in 2016 and I was selected within a week. I guess I just got lucky back then.

It is because of COVID and backlogs (also Afghanistan) and they have wanted up until a few weeks ago for IEC holders to have job offers too. Will have to wait and see if 2022 allows for more IEC participants.
