International automobile insurance

Hi..Is there any particular format to show international automobile insurance..we are immigrating from India

Are you planning on importing a vehicle when you move? Or are you looking at using insurance from India when you purchase a car in Canada?

We are not planning to import any vehicle..but I read on prepare for Canada that international automobile insurance history helps to buy automobile insurance in canada..

Your insurance rates seem to be based primarily on driving history. Different provinces have different programs for insurance (BC is government regulated insurance, whereas Alberta is private insurance). The ICBC site has a good page that shows what you should bring with you for additional documentation.

Although I agree that it is useful to have the information about your insurance record, I have found that it has limited value, as it is often difficult to verify and most insurers just wouldn't bother to much. The best I could ever get was the equivalent of 3 years no claims discount, even though my history was considerably longer.
