Hello every one,

My present company in India is planning to transfer me on ICT on a long term basis, the discussions are in progress and process might start next week. My questions is am I eligible to apply for PR after certain number of years in Canada. Did any one go through this process ?

any details provided is highly appreciated

no, time spent under that category is not counted towards PR.

Once you have a year of work experience in Canada, you will qualify to apply for PR under Canadian Experience Class. Whether you are actually selected under this program is a different matter and will depend on the total number of points you have (as of now, only those with 450 or more points are being selected).

Thank you scylla and ifeedly

i appreciate your prompt replies. Do we have any official site to calculate this points ?

Points tool is given below:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

If you get work permit based on lmia then you get 600 points and will surely get invitation.

FYI - you won't be able to calculate your points accurately until you complete a language test (e.g. IELTS) and get your education officially assessed.

OP will be getting a work permit through ICT. So unfortunately no LMIA and no 600 points.

thanks Scylla.
I will check with my company if they have earlier cases of converting ICT to PR at sme stage.

One more question. How mch time does it normally to get ICT processed ?

Your company isn't the one who has to turn ICT into PR - you are the one who has to qualify and do this.

Processing times for ICTs vary widely - anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months.

Hi Scylla & other seniors...
I have somewhat a question that also relates to Canada ICT by my company.
I am a FSWP 2014 Nov applicant and currently awaiting PPR. My Meds were received by Colombo- VO on 21st Jan and no movement after that( I have already submitted RPRF, FBI and India Police clearance) .
Now my question here is: Can my company apply for an ICT to Canada, while the PR (my personal application) is under process?
Is there a chance of any conflict ?

Kindly suggest !

Thanks,
Andy

Reddy,

the way the things panning out, I may end up in your situation where I travel to Canada on ICT but still wanted to get my PR through EE. Would like to connect with you and understand more. will private message you.

Others,

Will the time spent in Canada with ICT count as Canadian experience? can I claim the points (70) after one year of stay in Canada with my employer on ICT?
