Hi Guys,

I have the option of applying for a inter-company transfer to Canada. The company would take care of work visa stuff.

Quick Question - Should I take it up first (i.e. do the inter-company transfer) and then apply for a P.R, or apply for a P.R. and then do the inter-company transfer?

Thanks

Doesn't really matter. You can do both at the same time if you want to.

Thank you for the response. But if you apply for a P.R while working in Canada, don't you get more points towards your application?

If you have sufficient points under the federal program then it doesn't matter. You would get more points only after getting one year experience under the federal program. If like me who was short of points under the direct federal program, then I had to proceed by doing the ICT and then the PNP route to increase my score. Therefore, I would say it's all dependent on your score.

Thank you Mike. My score is in the mid 400s. I'm assuming this should be enough to apply for a PR. If I do encounter any issues I can always do the ICT as a backup.
