hello all
could anyone guide me about a reliable insurance company for health insurance for super visa. i understand it is a personal choice and the actual policy and amount is something i should worry about on my own. however i am looking for a company who issues them on a regular basis and have a flexible and cancelable plan. thank you

Try RIMI insurance, they allowed monthly payments as well instead of one time payment.

No, they do monthly payments. But they will give you a copy of the full amount of premiums for your chosen coverage so you can upload it to the portal. They can also adjust it to the actual date the insured comes here in Canada.

Will there be any problem when they make decision on the application as they need it to be paid
Did you get the decision on your application

I don't think there will be as when they give you the policy it shows there the full amount of the premium as if you paid it in full but you didn't.
Yes, I just got a ppr for my mom.

I was about to apply by myself but I don't know if I can immediately contact the insurance provider just in case I have to change the starting date and it did happen. I applied her insurance December and the effective date is February but now my mom is not coming until September, so I was able to get a hold of the agent to change the effective date.

Dealing with claims would really depend on the case at hand. There are quite a few insurance options on the market right now, but there are no guarantees that your claim is going to get approved (unless it is eligible for a payout, of course). Basically, any non-emergency treatment costs i.e. existing prescription refills, follow up treatment or consultations on pre-existing conditions and any cosmetic procedures are never covered under such insurance.

As someone working in the industry, I'd say talk to an insurance broker to get an idea of what your options are or at least research them yourself (considering whether people to be insured have any pre-existing medical issues, their age, etc.) Either way, you need to get familiar with what you are buying at least on some level.

You can get a quick quote and compare most of the options from Canadian insurers here - Super Visa Insurance

Hope this helps, at least somewhat.

There tends to be some companies that make it more difficult to make a claim. Would also suggest sticking to a Canadian company although non-Canadian companies can now offer supervisa insurance.
