I am planning move to Canada permanently in June 2013.
What are the job prospects for me in Instrumentation /Automation Engineering fields?
My places of interest are Alberta and Ontario.

From the number of job postings, it looks like there is a high need for automotive engineers in both Ontario and Alberta, but instrumentation technicians are more in demand in Alberta than Ontario.

You could also try looking for occupational analysis and forecasts published online by the two provincial governments or by industry associations.
