If you haven't registered for any of your classes yet, you may be withdrawn from the program. You should call the school and ask if you have more questions.

Yes, though of course you are taking a risk since if your application is refused you may not be able to get your money back from the college.

Dont get confused just read closely your LOA in the section related to "registration to courses" .
Registration for courses doesn't mean you are starting your studies,
It means u are booking your seat only to start studies.
I did registration for my courses and my LOA from George Brown College clearly mentions that there is no relation between registration to courses and refund of tuition fees if i am refused.
U just need to click "withdraw" from the registered courses if your visa is refused or u wanna withdraw ur admission.
FYI I havent yet received neither AIP nor refusal.

Yes, you can withdraw and get your money back at most schools, but only by a certain date. Once you get further into the semester the refund policy gets stricter.

if me in your situation, i will not register. i will just reply to the email that...

"due to my visa application is still under process and the delay in processing is expected due to the COvid 19 crisis and IRCC processing time modified, may I formally request for the deferral of my intake to the next available intake of my program"

If the OP wanted to defer they would need to follow the school's deferral policy, which may have a deadline that has already passed. Not registering for courses, no matter the reason, is generally processed as a withdrawal.

most if not all...schools are accommodating deferral requests due to Covid 19 situation affecting visa applications specially if you are not yet enrolled or registered

In Canada normally you have to register for each and every class each and every semester, though some online system your school will open up the registration on a particular date/time every student will rush to log in at once probably causing the system to colapse and causing massive problems for a lot of people. There is usually not enough room for everyone so if you don't register within the first few minutes you might find all the seats gone and then you have to deal with somebody at the school on how to proceed.

Hi, it is like you can start class without study permit, because fall semester going to be online. But you must need study permit to start Jan 2021 face to face classes. If you are confident that you will have your study permit approved by then (most of us don't believe IRCC could work that fast) you can proceed with registration and online class.

But if you think study permit may get reject or delayed then do not register. Write to the college to defer your program to next year. Meanwhile anywhere in 6 months if you get decision from IRCC, you can join next year or in case get rejected, show that letter to college and the fee reimbursed
