Sharing my experience:
1. Reply Portal 1 email with brief explanation about your travel, especially your return date. Then fill in the requested information like UCI and name.
2. If you received Portal 2 with credentials, it will state that you will need to response within 7 days with your photo and address. Don’t panic, just login and change your password but do not upload anything. Wait for response of the request you sent via replying portal 1.
3. A few days later an agent from the landing team will probably reply to your portal 1 email stating that if you will be leaving soon for a short period of time, they will put your application on hold. When you returned, you need to provide them with boarding passes for them to resume processing your PR landing.
4.If you uploaded address and photo before the agent reply, no worries. If you receive the confirmation from them that they will hold your application then you are fine.
5. If you are closing to the 7 day deadline of the Portal 2 email and no one replied your request, call them.
6. The email which sends the portal 1 is monitored. You can relay PR landing related questions to them. Portal 2 email address is not monitored. You can also send a web form but usually they will reply to inquiries sent to portal 1 email faster because that email connects directly to the landing team, while we form inquiries need to be relayed by a general IRCC agent.
