Hi! Can someone help me in regards to study permit extension? My situation is that I am currently a student here in Vancouver under Co-op program until October 2018 and I am thinking of extending my stay here by getting a 2 years program here like in VCC. I am thinking of applying on September for an extension for my study here and would like to have my 1st sem on January 2019. If my application for an extension is still in process, can i work while waiting for it? or what if I got approved on November but since my class will start on January, can i work as full time? or just part time? Hope someone can help me understand this situation I am currently in. Thanks a lot in advance.

You cannot work at all (either part time or full time) between the two programs. Working between the programs is classified as illegal work. We've seen a significant number of PGWPs refused recently for this reason. You must be able to support yourself without working between the two programs.

I see. Thanks a lot for the clarification. Just want to also ask, what if i just go home after i got my extension from october or november then come back on Jan. Would that be ok?
