Good evening helpful forum folks!

I am such a perfectionist and worry-wart that I am feel like I am overthinking everything before my spouse and I send of his application.

As recommended by a few helpful folks, we have decided to submit the PR and OWP first, then submit his Visitor Extention Application.

My question is, in the Visitor Status Extention Application, there is a section that asks

"how long you plan to stay?"

"funds available for my stay"

Any suggestions on how we should respond to these questions?

I will be supporting my spouse for the duration of the PR application. We are submitting this application just in case they need to send something back because of errors or missing info etc...His status expires the end of this month, we are trying to get everything out this week.

With our packages just about for send off, should we send the OWP to Mississauga along with the PR application or directly to Vergreville?

For the Visitor Status Extension Application, should we send that directly to Vergreville or to Mississauga?

Does anyone have the link to where and how we submit the Visitor Status Application online?

Thank you all! :)

I am not sure why are you sending Visitor Status extension in the first place. My suggestion is not to complicate things. Just send your inland Spousal application together with OWP to CPC Missisauga. Make sure you are sending it through courier address (not to post box address) so that
you will have a confirmation that your application has reached successfully. Once you sent your spouse application with valid Canadian status(Before expiry) then your spouse will end up with implied status.

Any other full timers, Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!!

I guess my only question would be, where is your spouse from and why are you filing an Inland application? In most cases, filing Inland only makes you stress and worry for 2-3 full years, where most Outland applications are done in a fraction of that time.

If you are insistent on filing Inland, updating his visitor record is not necessary, as the other poster pointed out, but if it makes you feel better, then do it. I would answer the questions like this:

1. I have recently filed an Inland PR application and would like to remain with my spouse until a decision is made. If you must choose a time, then opt for 12 months.

2. Provide documentation in the form of payslips and/or bank statements along with a letter from Spouse stating that you will provide all necessary items required by your husband/wife for the duration of his/her stay.

I would definitely send in the extension of the visitor record! I intend to do that soon.

The Permanent Residency application does not give you implied status, only the OWP.
If for some reason your OWP is refused, you would then be out of status(that is, if your visitor's status has expired)

There is however a 90 day window in which you could apply for restoration of status(as a visitor) but if you don't your PR application will be denied based on the inadmissibility of the spouse.

Incorrect. Being out of status is not a reason for a sponsorship app to be refused. They are many people on here who were out of status for years before being approved for PR.
