Well said Love_young, I totally agree. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. :)
Black-berry- If I had known about being able to apply from outside we probably would have but now we are in the process inland that is where we will focus on. Who knows, as you can see those outland processing times have increased as well and hindsight is a wonderful thing but then life would never be a challenge if we knew what was around the corner. You have truckloads of support here and you are with your family which is the most important thing and they also support you. You sound like you have HEAPS of information for the interview and I know that once they see this there will be no doubt about your relationship. It is frustrating that someone who does not know you has the power to decide if you have a real relationship and I know my mm would get angry when I would say "we need more proof to send in". But it is not made to be easy and we have to be strong and stand up and show that this will not break us.

I too am happy that there is a new week and this means there should be some action happening on all of our files! :)
Keep positive and stay strong.

I think I will order FOSS notes as well

Thanks Kiwi :)..
Am not doubting myself, am just looking at the worst case scenario. Its not uncommon for people who have been married for a long period with kids to be rejected. and then they are left stuck!> My kids look up to me and as their mother, its my responsibility to make sure that they are taken care of with or without immigration issues..
I always plan ahead esp now because cic decision will affect them and it will break my heart even thinking about it.
Plan ahed people!. if u can that is..

Love_young.. Im surprised it takes six months to get there!. what the hell do they do with it?????????!!. This step is still not clear to me. All the other steps are knd of but the transfer between offices baffles me as to why tfransferring a file esp a small office takes such a long bloody time!...
Am still waiting my FOSS notes before i proceed to send any more documentation. I made the mistake of ordering them from vegreville and not my local office so maybe that is why...

Janadian.. you still around girl???> thinking about you <3

Hi christopherwayne!

Sorry to hear that your work permit extention was denied... did they explain why? I'm curious to know since looks like mine will expire prior to I get AIP and I didn't attach OWP application (stupid me!!!) as processing times were fine for my current work permit timing when I applied. Looks like I'll have to apply for work permit extention, too, so I'm wondering how does it go...

Thanks for sharing!

That's true Black-Berry, it's a whole different story when you have children to think about as well. :)

I totally agree with the planning ahead!

Hello my fellow inlanders.!, Just checking up to see how everyones doing.

Im off the phone with an agent. Decided to call them and inquire more stuff,

Agent told me a few things

nanaimo office takes 12 to 18 months to process applications (He spcified that this is the whole process and not just for me to hear from them)

I asked him about my file and if he could see my FOSS notes as ive not received them yet.

He put me on hold went to check and said the reason they transferred my file was because they required more information! :O

I asked if they requuired more information why did they just call me to provide it as i had it all this time.

he asked me how long ive been married for. i said 8 years (He was surprised) and said he wishes he could help me further but couldnt.
He said i should give them up to November of next year to get my whole file processed ie.. PR and everything!. WOW!!!... I am baffled!!. 12 - 18 months!?!?!?!??

So i have decided i will not wait for them to contact me but i will send them all my stuff.

This is becauase i now know why they transferred my file and i have all the information!..

I have a question. I have 100 + photos. they are proper photographs i printed at walmart!. btw 100 photos cost me only 15 bucks to print!!. I put them all in an album. Should i send the album?. or should i just prin copies on regular paper and send them?. . Also, should i write at the back of each photograph??.

what did you all send ?

I also have tonnes of email from friends and relatives who have known us over the years as a couple. and emails from me and hubby from when we first hit on each other. .

Should i print some sort of form from cic website and attach it??

i need ideas to make my case look very strong right now..

How is everyone holding up?
Ive not heard from janadian. hope she is doing fine.
janadian did you order your FOSS notes?. did you call them?

Here is some good news for once you get AIP

I had my French test today and only needed the letter from immigration accepting my sponsor, I also had my OWP which has a Case Type number at the top which also makes it valid The case type number on my first work visa is different to my OWP. That was all I needed and I can start classes now if I like. The test is valid for 6 months. There were quite a few other people doing the test as well. The English classes are LINC and the French are CLIC. Some are free and others are $30 per level of which there are 7 levels. I was advised that the only difference in of $30 or free was who was funding it eg one is federal and the other is provincial. So I couldn't say what another province may have.

There are also workshops during the month for things like career information, writing resumes, job searching, networking, workers rights, settlement information, apprenticeship information, volunteer information etc. Then they also have a lot of pamplets on education, finance, law and more. All available and free for newcomers!!! You only need AIP/AOR It is through the YMCA/YWCA here in Ottawa, not sure about anywhere else but if you have a look online there may be some information.

:)

Hi Black-berry,

I'm glad you know a bit more now. We sent in pictures both on paper and printed, I also wrote on the back of them. eg Me, MM and all my family on our trip to Australia, our trip to Hanmer, my friend meeting MM etc since you also fill in a form with the original application with who your partner met who is important to you and the date they met them.

Did he say how long it would take to transfer the file? Can you go back to the Nanaimo office and give them the information? I'm sure 12-18 months is the longest it takes and may also be how long the security, background and medical takes as well. Hope you hear from your office soon! :)

we have sent real photos, and when i sent extra proof, i sent some photos and others i printed on paper because i didnt have those photos printed. i think i only sent around 50 photos, and maybe 10 photos later.

on every back of photo i wrote date and title of photo. then i wrote all the names of people in the pic (first n last names and how they connected to us). i arranged photos into categories (separate envelopes), for example: wedding ceremony, travels/events we went together, me and sponsor's family/friends, him and my family/friends, etc.

also i sent one or 2 email prints between each other. what i did is i print-screened emailbox, mine and his. and print-screened email contents; only few. also print-screened chat history.
i sent a beginning of our first chat ever. only beginning cause it was endless chat :)

maybe u should more concentrate on ur relationship beginning. proof how u met, ur first chats, first emails. what i understand by their new regulations, is that they paying more attention how people meet. and was it smhow connected with their wish to stay in Canada. i might be wrong, but thats my opinion. ;)

anyways hope that helps ;)

Thanks Kiwikris and Asta,

He said the process takes 12 o 18 months. I am pretty sure thi involves the WHOLE process if i am not wrong from beginning to end ie the waiting.. aip, security check to PR. so going by that i have 9 more months which is within normal times. so nothing to worry about.
DH went into shock when i called him and him and i are planning anothe r visit tere soon. the plan is to drop off as much info as possible, arrive with our family.

I will concentrate lot on how we met. Its been almost 10 years so i dont even have all that info!/. but as much as i have
The photos are scattered, throughout the years. randoms so i have done my best and hope i havent missed a thing. I feel like im doing this all over agauin :(. but what to do!. we just have to wait and see..

Asta, i like your idea. real photos hold more meaning. I counted nd we have close to 150 now and countiong!> I still have not posted pics of the new house ad recent pics of the halloween and thanksgiving pictures of us in the new house. i am guessing in total i shuld have close to 200 photos..

This is giving me time to gather all the information, as i get stuff, i will send as much as i can. hopeully this works!!..

I dont think they so much doubt our relatiionship. I think its the fact that they require more information as is in my FOSS notes (havent seen them yet but am assuming he isnt lyin!)
so i will tear the ** out of the information. i will make them beg me to stop sending hahahaha!. thats prob not gonna happen but i will send them anyway!!..

I GOT IT!!!. NOW I UNDERSTAND IT!... Im sitting here picking my brains and suddenly i GET it!!.

Ok so you know today i called the agent to ask questions that were still bothering me and even if i knew i wouldnt get a clear answer i still wanted to know!. I spoke to three different agents just so that i could see what my answers would be!.

I ask agent 1 .. How long it takes for nanaimo to get my paperwork etccall me for interview she says 18 months
I ask agent 2 the same question ...he says 12 months
I ask agent 3 the same question ..... he says 12 to 18 months

Ok so now this is where the answer is THEY ARE ALL RIGHT.
They are not giving me ANY news!!. it takes 12 to 18 months to process my file really ANY file!!
They KNOW what they are talking about,.
9 months initial + 9 months overall equals 18 months.

If your file has been transferred and you ask any call agent regardless of your office they will give you that same timeline. Truth is... they are just agents!!.

They prob see what you see on your ecas. they are not Immigration officers!. they can only see what another office (IO) has put as notes on your file!!.

So basically, what am trying to say is that thye call agents are pretty much useless!! HAhahahahahaha..
Ive just realised it!!/..
All the answers are on CIC
In my case, they are telling me it will take 12 to 18 months ONLY IF YOUR FILE HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED! If your file has not been transferred, then it takes 9 months for 1st stage and up to 9 months max for 2nd stage!.

God! I hope i have helped someone!!! this has been bothering me ever since i got my file transferred!!...

But now ive realised it!..

LOl....Black Berry you always make me laugh....I pretty much realized they just read off the same website and don't tell us much. You'd think they'd have just a little more info...Goodness give me a phone and let people call me. I could tell them that! Crazy....I'm still waiting. 12 Month for me will be Dec 14th. Our file wasn't transfered so I'm prayin for good news before that time. Still when I check religiously every morning I see IN PROCESS...hoping for my heart to stop when I see DECISION MADE. Then beat again of course...lol...Keep making me smile!!!! :D

hahaha i don't call those call centre agents as sometimes they give me wrong answers and only confuse my brain ,anyway why dont you send a fax to cic montreal ,nanaimo or toronto for ur foss notes?dont send additional proof now as i dnt think n believe the call centre can read your foss notes on the phone and tell you what are the written remarks by CIC IO since those foss notes is a bunch of pages and are written in codes have all ur info from day one you entered canada its not only about PR it has all ur records and remarks so whoever call centre told you what was written on ur foss notes its not true,i took me hours to read those foss notes and understand those codes and about ur case being transfered they do say say that because once they transfer ur case without AIP then it is falling under non routen cases and sometimes the file stay at vegreville for a long time before being transferred to ur local office because the IO need to write a report and put it in the system so for me i knw they have been doing those checks since in july um just waiting
