You will be just fine since you have already sent your application before the expiration of your visa... so once your visa expires you will be on IMPLIED status, just like lots of us are.

I hope you are right, but I just finished talking to immigration call center and asked exactly same quiestion, because since I dont need visa but still allowed to stay in country only 6month which will 1st of march, they told me to send the application to extend yoru stay in canada. PR application doesnt automatically extend your visa...am I rigth? if you dont mind waiting o hold for 15min call the centre and ask, they actually ar very helpfull.

Hey Everyone.... I guess I'll be the one to watch. I've been looking for people who have applied in DEC 09 like myself however there are not many who have "Voiced" their Timelines around that time.

We received AIP on Sept 10th 2010 and we are still in waiting mode. No transfer....Good thing I guess...Just waiting...I hope to hear something before christmas. I don't even care if the date is in Jan Feb...I just want to know and not bother with seeing this IN PROCESS thing every single day!

Being able to stay just with your residency application is untrue..My 1st visitors visa expired july 31st of this year, and because it would be too soon for my AIP I had to apply for the visitors extension. In fact, because they opened my OWP application before my visitor's extension they sent my OWP app back to me and said I had to re-store my status as a visitor because I wasn't legally here. Of course, I actually was since I had applied for the extension & had "implied status" but they didn't know that..so I personally think your best bet is to pay the $75 (although it sucks to) and apply to extend your stay as a visitor ASAP..that way you have it by the time your OWP comes in.

Yes I was transfered in June 09 , had spousal interview Sept 09 and CSIS interview May10.

Good Luck hope we both here something soon. Do you know your BFD ?

Yes, Love_Young!. Hello there and decided to come back to check on everybody because I do care. I am about to finish this process and the feeling is one of the best kind I've ever experienced. And I still haven't landed, imagine how my wife and I will feel once that happens!.
I read the postings in both threads (this and yours) and caught up with everybody's situations. So many AIPs happening, 2 gals on Decision Made mode, many more to come and more newbies popping out.
I kept myself busy with the baby and the backyard... about a ton of leaves to rake and bag which helped a lot for my state of mind... keeping oneself busy is the best therapy in this ardous and long road...

Eyeoftheocean and vincywife, I will definitely be interested to know when you get APR because I will hopefully be not too far behind. It's great to see so much activity happening for everyone!

I had a work visa and it expired start of September, I got my OWP in Oct and was on implied status during that time. I could still work and pay taxes but was not covered under OHIP. Visitor visa may be different I see but if you have work visa you are definitely on imlied status. Also my OWP is valid for 2 years.

Sorry to hear that your work permit extention was denied... did they explain why? I'm curious to know since looks like mine will expire prior to I get AIP and I didn't attach OWP application (stupid me!!!) as processing times were fine for my current work permit timing when I applied. Looks like I'll have to apply for work permit extention, too, so I'm wondering how does it go...

YUP. They said my application was denied coz my lmo expired. Then I applied for a new lmo which was approved after it got refused a million times due to the fact that my employer needs to submit more documents and post an ad that they're looking for workers on local papers etc... then I got refused still coz my work permit/visa expired and I can't take the shits no more on trying to get a working visa so I just turn to inland spousal sponsorship and it suck just the same

IT seems that I have to apply for my visitor visa extension as well. I'm in Calgary now, so do you know whether I am supposed to apply to Calgary office for this or Vegreville again?

the only number everybody use to call cic is 1-888-242-2100 if ur in canada its toll free .you dnt call vegreville as no body knows the number they hide themselves they dnt want disturbance from crying couples kidding gnight
