Congratulations to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!.... It's really exciting to see more people getting AIPs, Expresspost packages, good phone calls to agents, submitting additional proof, and the like!!!!!.... It is happening, we are getting landed wholesale and moving on with our lives!!!...
Lilian: which one was your local office, if I may ask?. Mine was Scarborough (here in Ontario) and we were a bunch for "landing interview". So many (about 24, I would estimate) that we all were lead into this big room they use for citizenship ceremonies. When we were called, we were called one by one to the front of the room, no office to have any individual interviews but I didn't see anyone being interviewed anyway, it was more like "passport, question here and question there, intialize answer here and there, congrats you are a permanent resident now" and that was it. I just looked at my passport and there is no stamp on it. What does your stamp read, I'm very curious to know???...
We were not told that you can become a citizen after only 2 years but did receive the sheets with important information and settlement services... The lady who took care of me was very nice, very professional and pleasent. She only kept 1 photo, by the way (not the 2 they requested).
There were other people in there, but I suppose they were in to do their citizenship tests.
And the best part of my local office was that the SIN people were there to exchange our SIN cards (the ones that start with a 9 for a good one, not starting with a 9), so we didn't have to make the trip downstairs to the SIN office.
I guess every office does things with a different twist....
Thx Janadian for the congrats and good to see you back in the forum with your update, best of luck to you and everyone else!.
