Inland Work Permit Before AIP

Hi All,

I sponsored my wife for inland sponsorship in November 2014 and we also sent a work permit request with our application. My wife received her work permit on March 26 2015, but we have not received any AIP letter. Could it be that my wife's work permit was processed before the AIP? I was under the assumption that the work permit would be issued after AIP. Like many of you we are just waiting for word from CIC and at the mercy of this long and confusing process.

She received her OWP early, thanks to the pilot program that CIC announced (and launched) on December 22, 2014.

At least she can now work while you both wait...and wait...and (Zzzzzz...) wait some more.

Also check your province, if she was not elligable she may now be elligable for health coverage. I know both Ontario and Manitoba cover those on work permits.

Hi dear,

I applied for spousal sponsorship in January 2015. I sent in my application for open work permit as well as temporary resident visa. What is the time period to hear back from cic? Also I sent in my passport In my spousal sponsorship app so I could get my TRV stamped in there. Does anyone know how long it takes to hear a response?
