Hi Everyone:

I apologize for asking similar questions over and over but I am finally applying for my PR through my spouse!

About me:
Pakistani citizen, living and working in Alberta with a PGWP that will last till mid 2017.

As a Pakistani citizen, what would you advise me to do? Apply outland, or apply inland?
I do have a job and would very much like it not getting affected by this process.
How are the timelines for outland and inland applications for Pakistanis?
Finally, if I choose the inland route, should I bother applying for OWP right away with my PR application or only apply when my PGWP is close to expiring?

I am leaning towards Inland just because of the option to extend WP as I feel like the outland processing times for Pakistanis will be quite a bit longer than they were?.

thanks.

as you can see on the cic website:

the processing times for Pakistan is 47 months + 62 days or so of the first stage...

the inland application so far is taking about 27 months in total.

so I guess your shortest route is inland.

Yes but now most of the Pakistani applications go through London. I was wondering if anyone going through that could explain how fast the times are.
Also, my question regarding the work permit is of quite significance to me, are you able to answer that?

Thanks!

Yes, many Pakistan applications are being rerouted through London. London is currently showing 28 months, but I hear it's going much faster, more like 10 months (don't quote me on that though). You should look on the forum a little more, check London threads and Pakistan threads, and have a look at the Outland 2015 spreadsheet here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FAYZyQgud1lzp7fM28i2O8ZrfbMAxdTc_t7_fiwI6ak/edit?pli=1#gid=658388151

Talking to people in those threads and looking at the spreadsheet will give you a much better idea of timelines than the CIC website. As a rule of thumb, outland is almost always better.
