Hi everyone,

I finally submitted my inland application today to Vergreville. I am wondering if I should do an upfront medical exam. The DMP who I will go to offers e-medicals. I am just worried about it expiring and having to do another one, considering the hefty costs involved as well as the recent strike event.

However, I would like to expedite the process as well. Is an upfront usually adviseable? Should I wait a couple of months and get it done? Senior / knowledgeable applicants, please advice. Thanks!

It will surely expedite your application if u will include your medicals when you submit your application.
In the event that there is some issues with your medical that could potentially delay processing of your paper, immigration or federal health office in ottawa , you wIll have the time to fix any issues.

Dont worry about the expiry of the mEdicals cause if everythings ok, you will hv approval in principle within 6 months or less.

Good luck to all of us

Does it matter if I do an upfront after I've submitted my application? I thought to my understanding, the medicals has to be valid until DM not AIP? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Just an FYI. Applicants who have submitted their application on mid October 2012 still haven't received their AIP's so currently it's a 8-9 month wait.

If the cic agents don't get to your applocation on time there is a possibility that they will ask you to get new ones. However I have heard of some people who have asked for an extension of the validity of the medical and was successful. Not sure how they did that.

On a lighter note, if you get lucky and they get to it on time, I will surely shave off some time on the processing of your phase 2.

But getting it done is at your own risk. That's why the application kit advices us to wait for the request from cic to get medical.

God bless you!! :)

I just want it expedited with the possibility of going back to school this coming academic year. The program doesn't accept international students, unfortunately. But it looks like it's not happening anytime soon :p So I guess another year of hiatus then. Otherwise I'm not in a hurry because I was granted a 3 year PGWP recently :) Thank you for the replies!!
