I'm running into issues adding my spouse (American on visit status) to utility bills for inland application purposes. Both internet and cell phone are only possible for residents. I got him a prepaid plan which listed his name and address, but I don't know if that's sufficient. We have a couple invoices with his name for things he ordered, rental lease, and a Alberta health letter addressd to him. We also have a joint bank account (RBC US) which has our Canadian address. What else could I include? I can't add him to my car registration since he doesn't hold an Alberta licence. He does have a library card, but that doesn't have an address on it

Also, would letters from people have to be notorized?

I added him onto our hydro bill. We put in some receipts for online orders he made. You can try to ask to have the bills for the internet addressed to him as well? That way it'll have both of your names on it. We didn't have much either to be honest. Just the hydro, internet+tv and joint bank account along with receipts.

As for the letters from people, they do not have to be notorized

Thanks for the response! They only address internet bills to account holders and he can't be account holder if he has no Canadian ID. Water is included in our rental lease. Did you have regular receipts or invoice type receipts?

hydro actually means electircity bill. They generally will allow you to add a person (not switch the holder) to the account.

I added him to my life insurance policy, my phone bill, my lease, my work benefits as a beneficiary, rrsp beneficiary, he had a bank account with cibc on a visitor visa. All was well
