Inland Spousal Sponsorship Questions

Hi,

I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my American husband. He's currently in Canada on a 3-month visitor record, and we're aiming to have our application in by 1 month into his stay here (currently at almost 2 weeks).
I'm unsure what to put as our status regarding whether we're "living together" or not. He is staying with me, and we consider ourselves to be living together, but my house address isn't his official address. From what I understand, we can't change his address until we already have our application submitted (please correct me if I'm wrong!)
I guess my main question is whether we can put my address as his main address on our application forms. It's listed as his address on his visitor record, but I'm not sure if that defines it as his primary address...

We also don't have any of the recommended documents for proving cohabitation (i.e. joint ownership of a residential property). We're currently living in my parent's basement rent-free, so we don't have any documents showing us as residents living together. From what I've seen, it's also quite difficult to get a joint Canadian bank account without him having a SIN number. If we are considered to be living together, we'll just write up a letter explaining our situation, but if anyone knows how we might be able to get a joint bank account without him having a SIN or something along those lines, we'd love some advice.

If anyone has dealt with a similar issue or has some guidance to offer, we'd greatly appreciate it!

If you're applying inland, he has to be living with you. If you were to state that he is applying inland and not living with you, you'd be rejected.

You are going to need more proof of cohabitation than just a letter from both of you. Have your parents give you a $1 lease. Have you arranged absolutely no accounts for him, etc? It may be challenging to get the proof you need in 2 weeks.

We had zero issue with me being added to my husband's account at TD with just my us passport as proof of id. Took about five minutes. I'm also here on a visitor record.

Thanks for the reply!
Ok, so I'm assuming then that it's fine to put my house address as his address on our application forms? As long as we get the necessary proof, of course.
To be honest we're both still figuring out how to navigate through this process, so no prior arrangements have been made. Every time I think I understand it, something else pops up! I'll talk to my parents about the lease/rental situation and get that figured out. Thanks for the advice!

Good to know! I bank with TD, so I'll go in with him and see about that. Thanks!
