So I couldn’t link my OWP because it was sent back to me on Jan 28 (Agent on the phone said that) due to insufficient payments even though I paid the rest $155 and submitted through IRCC web form after realizing I paid it wrong (at first I paid only $100). while I get documents and send it back I’m not in the pilot program anymore.
Does it mean OWP will not be approved until my sponsorship immigration is Approved in Principal, which is going to be in around 10-12 months?

No one knows until they decide if they're extending it or not. They may still do that. Are you in status?

Yes, I have a status till the end of March.
Do I need to restore my status after its expire?
I guess I'm good for now, just hope the second time they approve my OWP.

I am pretty sure you have implied status anyway .
If I were you , I would try to find a immigration centre closer to you and I would also call CIC just to make sure you are doing everything you can !

They have just released that the open work permit pilot will be extended till July 2020, great news!

Does anyone know how long it takes to get Medical request and sponsorship approval after AOR. Received AOR Jan. 23rd. App sent October 29th

It really depends, others got it a month after AOR, some within 2-3 months. It depends on the VO processing your app.

Hi, We are getting anxious too. Ours was received on Dec 5 and still have not heard anything but the people have been getting theirs already that applied around the same time as we did. Fingers crossed!

The CBSA out of status interview is set for January 8 2019...The CBSA officer has been very kind us so far, even when the discovered my spouse was here out of status in Canada, there was no arrest, no bond, only monthly reporting and they where very nice to us. We where honest about everything in terms of out of status and provided all information to them.

We will take the proof that we have sent our application in. The good thing is that my spouse has a lot of family in Canada (legal citizens) as well my spouse visited Canada when he was a child. So there is a lot go genuine family ties, history and memories in Canada. Hoping we can overcome this hurdle as a couple. I really feel for couple out their going through the same thing as us.

I know CBSA are not here to keep people, rather they're job quite simply is to send people back to their native countries. My spouse has been reporting to the CBSA since August of 2018. Unfortunately it took us months to gather our file for Inland Sponsorship but it has been sent as of December 2018.

We have been given a lot of misleading information about CBSA interview, We have been told if you do not have AOR, CBSA can provide an exclusion order therefore nullifying the Inland sponsorship and my spouse we would be sent back to his native country.

However I have been also told even no AOR has been received, as long as you can show proof that an application as been sent, The CBSA officer has the option to let you wait for a few more weeks etc.

Not sure how this all will turn out next week, but we are staying and thinking positive, I hope the officer can see we are good people, and a young couple just starting our lives.

CBSA interview for spouse..................January 8 2019

Hi there,

Very interesting situation for you guys and I truly hope all goes well for both of you. I have a few things I want to ask you. Why did you get a call from CBSA? Did you apply for PR after his legal stay had expired? I honestly think that if you can prove to them that your PR app is in the process and especially if its an inland app, they will cooperate and give you guys some more time.
