After AIP My inland spousal file was transferred to local office for further assessment. Ordered my gcms notes and they say that I came here on student visa but didnot study. My spouse is Canadian citizen. So my situation is that I came here on student visa but we got married in our own country before coming to Canada. As college fee were so high so I didn't go to college and cancel my admission and we planned that I will study after receiving AIP. So now I have taken a certificate course in university.
My question is how to rectify this problem ? Wt are our chances of PR or refusal? Should we update local office that we have started studying? Is certificate course enough as compared to my earlier admission in degree course in university? Or we should just wait for cic to call us for clarification. Any suggestions. Plz help

Ye, looks like you have some chances of having your application rejected,
Do you have children together ?
You have some chances of having your permanent residence rejected,
but I believe that you can answer to all the reason for rejection in an appeal,
Maybe is good idea to consult an immigration lawyer and live one day at the time,

If you have a real marriage sooner or later you will become permanent resident in Canada,
keep faith and live one day at the time. At the moment you don't have anything to do,
just wait (By the way, tuition fees being high is not a good reason for not study, you applied
for a visa student and you did not study, Immigration see this as a serious problem.)
But as I said, the best thing is to be prepared for a rejection and work towards your appeal,
But you don't know until they get their final decision.

Good luck

Thanks. I guess we should not worry much because ours is a genuine case.

Hey ATr,

I am in a similar situation, how much time from the time your application was transferred for further assessment to when you received your final decision?

Thanks!

Hello! I have same situation my file was transferred for further assessment just this month. How's your application? Did you receive the final decision? I hope to have an idea of the timeline. Thank you in advance.
