Wow lots of hatred going on here. Canuck and Ponga, you 2 are good people who help out lots of people and your time you put into this is much appreciated and appreciated by others. You both provide good info to help ease the burden of families being seperated for however long possible.
I agree with the post too that being granted a visa to permenantly live in Canada is a Priviledge and not a right whatsoever. You all knew before even applying whether be Inland or Outland how long the process takes to be reunited with the loved ones. You def. didn't have to take the route to go to Canada at all. As mentioned you could of settled in the other spouses home country and applied a visa to live there. Or even choose another country. It doesn't have to be Canada at all, can go to America, the UK, Europe etc.. Canada is not the world, and you took the risk to submit yourself to this torture before you submitted your forms off.
In 2012 I had applied Inland for my wife who is from the UK. She had a business out there and in her time in Canada she was making an income and working online supporting her business and getting a paycheque for it as well. Due to how long the process was for my step son to get into school out there we made the call to withdraw and I applied for my visa to the UK and was granted this so I didn't have to be away from my family.
Now that he's finishing school in a couple months there is an application outland going on now to bring them back into Canada hoping all goes well . It sucks for me as my UK visa expires Mid August so its pointless for me to renew for what 1 month? 2 months? I'm headed back at that time in preparation to assume that they will be joining me on the other side. But since I won't know the outcome when I return that can be quite stressful. Thats why I hired an ICCRC agent with an excellent track record to maximize my families application to the utmost fullest. Nothing is ever a guarantee. I chose this path knowing the rules that Immigration have in place for its citizens. I am indeed a born bred Canadian and follow the road like everyone else has been doing on here.
So again, if you don't like it, send a letter of withdrawl of application and move on with yourself and take your rants with you. Canada is not the world. It is def. one of the best countries out there but even you in your own country you can work hard to make a good life for you and your spouse and try to improve the way of life out there.
Many roads can be taken, I chose mine and have been with my wonderful family ever since and I am hoping all goes well where i will for once and for all have them with me for good. That is a prime example of what you could be doing. Again its not your right to migrate there, its a priveledge. End rant
