Since he submitted an OWP with application, he had "implied status" as a visitor until OWP is approved. He was never out of status when his visa stay expired.chris1302 said:

I am only going by what other senior members have said and posted, which to me makes sense. OWP is processed in vegreville so until CIC-M input the application and makes an official AOR, only then does CIC-V is aware of the application being in the system. Then CIC-V can issue an OWP within 4 month of receiving the official inputted data in the system, which is after AOR.rhcohen2014 said:

right, the truth is though for NEW applicants as of Dec 22, we don't know if the new OWP will be issued "4 months" from date the application was received or "4 months" from when AOR is received. those are 2 very different timelines. we aren't questioning the backlog OWP. unfortunately, there are a lot of new applicants taking the bait of this new program without knowing what will actually happen. it's a huge risk for visa exempt applicants in my opinion and isn't a reason to apply inland instead of outland.civic said:OWPs are being issued like crazy. I have one more question though, when we were filing out form IMM 0008 question 10, it asks country of residence, status (ie, visitor, refugee, and so on) then its asks from date and to date. I don't know what to put here because he is out of status and still waiting for he visa ext.
anyone have any advice?
