Hello,

I'm considering applying for Inland spousal sponsorship and I have a question about OWP and implied status. I currently hold both a study and work permit since I am a student in a co-op program. I am graduating soon.

As I read on the CIC website:
"If you submitted an open work permit application with your permanent residence application, you can keep working after your current work permit expires. However, while the application is being processed, you can work only for the employer on your current work permit. While waiting for the open work permit, you do not have to extend your Live-in Caregiver Program work permit. This condition is known as “implied status.” "

My work permit is blank under employer, occupation listed as "OPEN" and "OAKVILLE" listed as the employment location (although my job has been and will be in Mississauga).

Will I be OK to work while waiting for the OWP? I have a job lined up as soon as I graduate at the end of August.

Thank you!

Still looking for any information on this subject. For more context, my other option is applying outland in conjunction with a post-grad work permit
