Hi Guys,

I'm about to apply for inland sponsorhip, with everything about done, except the Police Clearance.

Although my wife does have one from January 2014, CIC states is has to be no older than 3 months from the time you apply.

I've read the police clearance is not required to submit inland Applications, would they accept my almost 1 year old Police Clearance?

Would they ask for a new one? or reject my application?

I'm in the process of obtaining another Police Clearance but it takes about 3 weeks since I need to translate it, so I thought I could sumbit it mean while I get the newer one.

Thanks

CIC will not accept the one that your wife has from Jan 2014.

You can submit the Inland application and include a note stating that you've requested a new one, but...if it's only going to take 3 weeks, you're better off sending everything when it arrives.

The problem is, that until you have AOR (Acknowledgment of Receipt), you won't have your file number. You can't really send the PCC in until you have that number, so that CIC can [hopefully] match it up with your application. If you don't get your AOR for, say, 3 months, that would make the new PCC outdated before they even receive it.

Thanks for the reply, I will then wait for a newer one.

Cheers!

You can go ahead and send in the old one, but they will ask for a new one. Ours was an outland application but that's what we did. We sent an old one that was about 4 years old, but at least our application got in line while we applied for another police certificate.
