Hi everyone,
I wish to share the following with anyone who may find it useful and, as well, would like to ask a few questions.
I am currently living in the province of Québec - Canada and sponsering my wife who is currently living in Peru.
We know each other since 2001 and are married since 2003. We have one child.
As work permited, I was visiting my wife in Peru at least four (4) to six (6) months every year until I came back to settle down in Canada 2016.
My wife was granted with a single entry visa in 2011 and a multiple entry visa in 2014.
She was also granted with a US tourist visa in 2014.
She has visited Canada in 2011 and both Canada and USA in 2015
At the following dates:
- March 7th 2018 / The PR application was sent to CIC
- March 9th 2018 / CIC has received the PR application.
- April 21st 2018 / CIC confirmed reception of the application.
- April 27th 2018 / CIC is requesting for «Medical Exam» and «Schedule 'A'».
- May 8th 2018 / The «Medical Exam» has been completed.
- May 22nd 2018 / CIC has received the complet «Schedule 'A'»
- July 10th 2018 / Application has been forwarded to the Visa Office in Mexico City.
- Aug. 6th 2018 / Case processing started.
- Sept. 3rd 2018 / Application received at the Visa Office in Mexico City.
- Sept. 17th 2018 / My wife has been granted the «Selection Certificate of Québec».
- Sept. 27th 2018 / The Visa Office in Mexico City acknowledge the receipt of the application.
Questions:
1) I would like to know if the above time lapse seems resonable.
2) As my wife presntly lives in Lima Peru, could anyone tell me why the application was sent to a visa office in Mexico City ?
I have contacted the CIC but they would or could not answer me.
I have sent an e-mail to the visa office in Mexico City and I still do not have any answer.
3) Since that the validity of the Medical Exam is for one (1) year, I would like to know if an extension request can be made in case that the PR visa is still not granted by May 8th 2019.
- If an extension can be requested,
- is it the applicant who should ask for it or
- it will be requested by a visa officer ?
Thanks for your kind replies, answers, tips or advice.
