Inland quebec delay 27 months

Hi,

I got sponsored and the papers were received in February 2022. Now I've been waiting for 16 months. I have completed all the steps medical, biometric since March 2022. I receive my CSQ in june 2022. Since august 2022 nothing has changed I am still waiting for the background check. I saw on their website that the processing times have changed from 14 months to 27 months. do you think this applies to all applications? or only the news?

I have the same timeline as yours. Applied in March 2022. Just as I was hoping that we should get to the final stage by now, I saw the extension of 24 months (spouse living outside Canada). I don't have an exact answer, but I believe that they just don't want us to keep nagging about the status of our application and now their answer will be always that you're within the timeline (less than 27 months). This is stressfull, but I've seen it in the past for other types of visas, the timeline keeps changing and maybe it will go back to 16 months.

that’s crazy …
I’m having same issue, I don’t understand if we must wait 27 months now ??

Yes, it's possible you may have to wait 27 months. However we have also seen some cases processed faster. It's hard to guess. You should complain to your member of the Quebec provincial government about the caps that Quebec has imposed which have created this terrible situation. Good luck.

Same here …
Everything is done CSQ received April 2023 and now it’s November … background check is in process for about 5 months and nothing updated. Seems like we may have to wait close to 24-27 months… apparently they are counting the numbers of immigrants coming into Quebec , they can only take certain amount of people per year, and I have no clue how many that is. It’s so sad

please keep posted if you have updates , and I will do same .

For inland I applied beginning of Feb 2023. Got CSQ in mid-May 2023, eligibility and medical and bio are passed, my background check is still in progress since around April. No idea when I'll have the PR approved seems like it's gonna be a long wait...

Complain to the provincial government of Quebec. They are the ones who have put in these caps. It's a terrible policy.

Did anyone notice that ircc updated process time to Quebec (as of Nov 7th ) is now 33 months ??? That’s close to 3 years !! What’s going on ??? This is ridiculous???

the 33 months seems to be for outland Quebec, for inland it's 25 months now
