Incorrect. The OWP does not permit border crossing. The fact that he is from UK, and they grant the visitor visa at the border is why he can cross. The OWP only permits someone to remain in Canada to work.

Yeah, you are right, it isn't guaranteed with the OWP. At the bottom of the OWP, it says: does not authorise re-entry (or something to those words).

km9203, where are you in the process?

15 months. Applied July 2015. Only received OWP and AOR so far. Ordered notes in August and they mentioned the reduction exercise at the end of my notes.

Does it say "Closer review required"? Also, what's your general location?

I wasnt saying you are granted border crossing automatically, just that I believe this is why we dont have any issues.

I am glad you've had no issues but I would be way too nervous to risk it!

We feel the same way. That's a pretty expensive mistake, and then to have to start again...and wait.... ya no thanks.

We just sent in our new medical results but haven't heard anything since Sept 20th when they requested medical exam. It's so difficult just waiting every day, knowing that many who applied after us, have received their landing email!

Yep it does - I believe it says that so that they can make sure it is as straight forward an app as they think so it can be processed quicker. Alberta.

According to the notes, my med results were extended... so hopefully they stick to that.

Profiler, did you get separate correspondence that medical results have passed? We have just seen medical results received. We're just outside Toronto.

If you order your gcsm notes, it tells you if your med has passed.

So it's probably sent to (Calgary,Edmonton) to be "reviewed" (this is how they speed it up -- they do most of the heavy work in CPC-M, they toss it over the fence to the local issuing VO for final steps). You probably won't see an AOR from that, because CPC-M is still "in control". So it's not terrible to see that "closer review required" bit in your notes.

Just myCIC telling my wife that there was a change to her file. When we logged in we saw the Medical had passed, and ECAS was updated with "Medical results had been received."

I was concerned at first seeing that, but then I read that some other people who got the 'reduction exercise' comment also had the closer review comment. And someone said it is prob to make sure it is a straightforward app.

Great, is that the last correspondence you've had from CIC? Is she UK? We are in the same stage I believe.

I like chatting with someone who is in the same spot as us!
