Hi. Has anybody done a medical exam to extend their study permit in Canada? What would be the price for such exam? Ideally I need a price for Ottawa locations.

Ideally i don't think you would require a medical unless you've lived in another country for 6 months or more.

I see what you mean, but I think it's a new requirement if a person didn't do medicals within last 12 months and wants to stay in Canada longer than 6 months then he needs to do medicals. I just want to be on the safe side and avoid unnecessary rejections. I read some people got rejections for the reason of not providing the proof of medical exam. It is on the checklist and the question is not only have you lived for 6 months in the last year in those countries but also do you want to stay in Canada for longer than 6 months, if I answer yes to one part of the question, I think I am required to do medicals.

Has anybody got their study permit extended recently? Did you submit a proof of medical exam?

I honestly don't think you need it, medicals are only required to enter Canada and since you're already admitted, you are not applicable. If for whatever reason you do need one, they will send you an email indicating so. (so, its not a huge deal.) Best of luck.

Maybe i didn't understand your question, but if you do not have a study permit, but a TRV then you are required to leave Canada and apply for a Study Permit in your home country. There is no way to change status from TRV to Study permit while in Canada. Hopes this clears your question.

I have a Study Permit. Actually my question was for my husband and he has a Study Permit as well, but he's never done his medicals because he came from US and medicals are not required from USA. Btw he came as a visitor and applied for Study Permit from within Canada, because I was on a Work Permit he qualified to apply from Canada.
