Sharing my story here.

Applied for PR on March 21

Call on November 1st Week
Your application is still in progress

Call on November 20
Your application is approved, wait for the Passport request letter. The portal still showing pending

Call on November 21
Agent says the application has been approved since July, but we have been waiting for Passport Request Letter. They will send a note to office

Call on November 22
Agent says Vancouver office will send the landing information, that's when I knew that Vancouver (not Niagara falls is processing the application)

Waiting for the appointment email.

Do you guys know from which email address you get the Vancouver appoint request letter, is there any other option of other then waiting or contacting the Vancouver office ?
It comes from an email that is "do not reply" the address I received is below... And no, there is no other option..

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

1148 Hornby Street

I posted my path here, so I'm gonna update my timeline. Finally I got an invitation for landing interview today! I waited for the email for more than three months, and I found that my landing interview request was cancelled. The CIC operator send a request again, and thankfully I got an invitation in 11 days after that. If someone is waiting so long, your application might have something wrong. They say the current waiting time for landing interview at Vancouver office is three months but many people are getting emails in a few weeks. Anyways, I hope everyone will get invitations without any delays!

The best way to contact the Vancouver office is to call CIC. If the operator thinks it’s necessary, they call the office immediately while you are waiting in the line. When I call CIC between 11am till noon, I usually get a chance to hold. Please try calling during this time! After I found my interview was cancelled, I sent an email directly to the Vancouver office (email address is the one somebody posted above) to explain about my situation, but I haven’t got any reply from them. I guess it was read, but the chance you will get a reply is low... So I think calling CIC is the best and only way to contact to the office.

Congratulations! I am happy to hear you get it sorted and won’t have to worry about that over christmas. In the end, after waiting 4 months, I went abroad and got it when returning to the airport. I am not sure but I think the slow queue is the one for people who got the landing papers and can flagpole and that is the one you got into by accident.

Congrats Viking10! I got my interview for COPR on Dec 4th, when we entered the building in Vancouver the lobby was full and we had arrived 30 minutes early but there was no where to sit. After being there for about 10 minutes someone came out and called a family. As the family was getting up to go to the back the man said "All refugees come back" and the lobby almost emptied except for about 3 families and ourselves. We ended up getting our interview and COPR about 45 minutes later than our appointment time but we were very grateful.

I hate to speculate why it would take some months to get their interview and others a week or less but I can attest to how busy they are...

Hi. Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. I have a side question. I am also an inland PR case in Vancouver. I got my appointment for the 1st week of January but I am wondering how the interview will be like? I understand that we have to take our passports and photos etc but what exactly is like getting COPR. Will we get a visa in our passports right away? or will they collect everything and we will get PR card etc.by email?

I had the interview last week. I can tell you how it was like. The officer checked through all my documents like my passport, visa, receipt and photos. And she asked some questions about criminal history. Then I checked if there is no mistakes on COPR, I signed on it, then I got COPR with the officer’s signature. Getting COPR means you are already a permanent resident, so you don’t need any visas any more. If you need some proof about your PR status, you can make a photo copy of your COPR and submit it. She said my PR card will be sent to my address in a few weeks. I got the receipt, my old visa, passport and one photo back at end of the interview.

Hanna's spot on! Except they didn't check my receipt, they asked my last entry date into Canada. Online it qoutes 26 days processing time for the pr card but mine was in my mailbox 1 week to the day of my interview!

I left the office and went to Services Canada immediately for SIN number. The only thing that sucks in BC is not being able to use the COPR for a driver's license!!!

Thank you very much CA_From_Seattle! I received my PR card 2 weeks after going abroad. I am happy to hear that you got it sorted as well!
