Hey, yes, that's the case now. The office is very busy and the current wait times are around 2-3 months as per my lawyer. If you are in the rush to finish your landing, I would actually recommend to do so by the land border crossing. But don't go to Niagara bridges, all of them are at capacity, they will only accept 10 people very early in the morning and will refuse everyone else (speaking from my experience and my friends' experience). You will have more luck flagpoling at Thousand Islands Bridge near Kingston, any day of the week, time of the day doesn't matter much too. You can read about the experience of other people landing there on this forum. Mostly very positive feedback. It's a long drive if you live in Toronto, but would be quite worth it.

Flying outside of Canada and coming back to your destination city is also an option, as the officers can finish your landing at the airport. Just make sure you have all the needed documents with you.

Thanks for reply. Does it mean they accept even on Saturday or Sunday? Unfortunately as we don't have driving license yet so we cannot drive. Exploring options of how can we go there with public transportation.

I got my appointment in 2 weeks, did you check your alternate email Id if you have used one for work permit/study permit filling?

This border crossing is open 24/7, per their website. I read someone's experience of landing on the weekend, and also during the week at around 10 PM. When I was driving, I also saw a family walking by foot, and I've heard there is a pedestrian crossing available during the day hours (but please verify this if you are planning on going). Maybe you can find a friend who can drive you there. They or you don't need a US visa, because you won't be entering the US, but just a legitimate status in Canada.
