Hey guys,

Just called to CIC this morning. First call - I got agent who told me that provessing time is 6 months and I don't need to be worried. I asked - Is it still 6 months or more, because of refugees? He told - no, it's still 6 months, for refugees CIC will open separate centr so it will not affect another applications.
I did second call and talked with a nice agent who checked details of my application. He told that everything looks good and they received all documents... and estimated time to complete my application - from now till MAY 2016. I asked him twice - are you sure that it's May 2016? It's more than 6 months... Agent confirmed that yes..it's not 6 months, now it's 8.

I'm shoked!!! Almost crying... may 2016. Can you imagine?

You think so? He got this date from my application, it's mean that everything could be...

ITA July 17
AOR Sep 3
RPR paym Oct 20

I know that you are waiting from July.. Wish you best of luck and PPR before Christmass! Try to call.
Regular number, after 1-1-3-1 and waiting time was 1 min, for the second call - 5 min.
I told that last time that I heared from CIC was paym request and I paid the same day. No access to ECAS and My CIC so I'm worried. Can you please look into if everything OK. Maybe you need additional documents and I don't know about it because I loose access to my account... First time it didn't work, second - it worked.

I think second agent must have quoted one of the due dates in your file, which we all know is meaningless!

To me it seems like it is just not CIC that is over stretched due to commitments to bring in refugees. While the government may be able to setup new extension offices to deal with the paperwork but some departments like the ones involved in security checks/criminality checks/visa printing system/PR card system cannot be just replicated in short time and that is where the real bottlenecks may lie. Every system is designed to handle load at a specific rate and any major deviation is bound to cause issues. May be govt tried to bypass the system or change the system and the result is this mess where all the apps keep on going down so frequently. Whatever the case be, we may never know what the real reasons are.

I hate saying this (even I want previous batches to be granted PR quickly so that my turn comes up) but to me Dec looks difficult for issuing PPRs. In last 10 days of Dec very few people are going to be working and on top of it lot of people tend to travel so why would CIC issue PPRs just before upcoming holidays?

i am waiting since June :9...12 June AOR

i have got my gcms notes on 26th November and everything seems ok

I also called couple of days ago and the agent just told me to wait for 6 months and then call...

I also emailed ottawa office and i was told my application is in queue to be reviewed by an officer and right now no additional documents are required

Even if the agent is good what can i expect? i know they will say it is in queue to be reviewed

Dont know if they are so stretched why do they keep on doing draws...doesnt make sense...May be they themselves want to create this backlog

May be to prove a point that everything is normal. Basically they seem to be in a denial and they are screwing up whatever improvements had happened in last few months. Another thing baffles me is their standard answer of waiting for 6 months. I mean why not just publish that there is a delay rather than postponing to have to face the truth. This standard recorded message of 6 months sounds like some prince is going to appear on a white horse and fix months of delay in a day!!

The truth is bitter and hard to say, i just wish there would be an official communication saying we are committed to processing syrian refugees and as such there would be a slow movement for all other applications rather than leave everyone on limbo and get the standard trained response from the call centre agents! SAD but nothing one can do!

The truth is is that CIC is just like ur average worldwide government bureaucracy, slow, inefficient, unresponsive. Maybe nothings happened last couple weeks because they've decided to take an extended christmas break
