When your bgc starts, what is written in gckey under background?

It says:
"We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

For me it is saying the same for many months :/ Is my bgc in process then O I though it will say something like "In Process"

You could be in an extended security check, they could be waiting for more information from your country of origin or some other agency, or it could be all done and just waiting for a sign-off.

But it’s a good place to be! If it hadn’t started yet it would say “your background check has not started yet, we will send you a message when it starts.”

Agreed, and sometimes they just don’t update the GCKEY or ECAS, some people got none of it updated and got DM pr landing interview without getting SA or AIP. I think as long as you are within the 12 months processing time you can only assume that everything is going as it should. If they need more info they will contact you eventually. The wait in front of that wall is hard psychologically but we will get there guys!

I’ll give you an example, on my GCKEY it says:

We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements

But then further down I have the AIP letter logged that says in the title:

Eligibility passed

Go figure...

They sartee reviewing my eligibility last week and still no AIP just saying we are reviewing whether you meet the requirements

Just saw DM on the applicant's side on eCAS this morning! The rest of our application's timeline is in my signature.

It seems that the applications that got caught up in the Montreal office are moving. Hang in there!

Called IRCC. Got the following information:
1) Application got sent to Etobicoke on April 29th.
2) Criminal background check is in process.
3) Security check hasn't started.
4) The lady said according to average processing times, my full application should be completed by the end of September.

Hopefully it'll be done before then - our applications have very similar (USA to Canada) and timelines are also very similar and we just got AIP and DM this week. Unless she meant when you receive your PR card? That seems to happen about 8 weeks after the interview.

Yeah maybe she meant PR card and she calculated that off of getting DM on August 1st I guess? I'm hoping it gets done a lot quicker.

I think the IRCC phone line has blacklisted me haha. With patience I used to be able to get through... now, no matter what time of day I try calling, I can’t get to the “speak to an agent” option, even to wait on hold or get a callback. They just tell me to hang up...

We know — many of us are in the same boat as the June applicants. We must all be stuck in the same backlog/have gotten sent to Montreal together.
